Local musician scores big with music to accompany old films

Silence truly has been golden for Ben Redwine.
The Edgewater resident and member of the Naval Academy Band composed original music for a silent film by 1920s star Harry Langdon. He also performed music written by friends on many of the other movies in a newly released collection of the actor’s work.

A 4-DVD set of Harry Langdon films, with scores by the Snark Ensemble, has been released.
The Snark Ensemble supplied the scores for sixteen films (some in association with RedwineJazz) for Lost and Found: The Harry Langdon Collection, a 4-DVD retrospective of the Mack Sennett films starring Harry Langdon, released by Allday Entertainment in December 2007.
